The Internet continues to play a vital role in enabling communication between citizens and government officials, helping make governance more transparent and accessible. Internet technologies today are becoming as important to citizen engagement as radio and television were in the twentieth century. Recently, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram took to Google+ Hangouts to speak to citizens from across the country. This Friday, March 15, 2013, netizens will have yet another opportunity to interact with India’s senior policymakers online, this time with members of the Planning Commission.
Participants on the Hangout will be able to ask questions about the 12th Five Year Plan to Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and Mr. Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the PM on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation, as well as other members of the Commission. You can send your queries to them via http://goo.gl/Va6Au using the hashtag #12thPlan. Selected participants from across the country will be joining the Hangout.
